Yeah about that...

So, yeah been a long time. I do have good news though. We are back in ower house and are working on getting to back to where it before the flood.

I had a great christmas season this year. It started by getting a new job working at a call center working, at first, winback for Office Depot. The week of New Years though I was switched over to Account Manager for Office Depot's US Communities Contract work. This means that I have a group of people that order regularly from me, and only me. It also means that I can sit down as work, get paid more and HAVE BENEFITS!! So happy!

Currently not sure what I'm going to be doing for Anime Detour and Acen. May or may not be able to go, but will be trying.

So, my mom uses this cool photo thing that allow you to make scrapbook/slide show like things that you can post one line and she has been pulling alot of the pictures of what happened to the house in to these scrapslide shows. So she has told me that I can post them on to my LJ account so that I can show you all what the house looks like.

Sucky news first. As of right now we are being told that we will not be able to get electricty back in the basement for three months, nor will we be able to finish it off again until this time is up. The reason behind this is because they are not sure if the house will not just sink in to a gaint sink hole formed by the flood water's retreat. Sucky no.

On the other hand, good news, I have been finding manga's that are drying out faster then the others that can be saved! Not many but a good number. One of the slavagable ones is one that I have been looking for for a few years now and finally found in the last few months. This makes me very happy. Another is my 6 volumes of X/1999. I don't know what is up with the paper in those but river water can not stop them (as another friend who droped their first volume in a river can atest).

This whole working at the house and then turning around and going to work at Gordmans thing is so not working. I feel like I have not had a day off in weeks, I can't wait for the Y-party, I so need the time off to relax, before I go mental, more then I already am. Oh, and Chibi I'm thinking of making a lemon bunt cake. Yes, I know wierd. Helendragon, the friend I'm bringing, and I will explain it to you when we get there.

...I got a chance to look at the house today. I found two books that I had been afraid where down stairs. One was the first collection of Elf Quest, which is nearly impossible to find, and the other was my Marvel Manga Verse, which is expensive to begin with. That still leaves about 95% of my collection ruined.

On another note, I got a chance to see what the house looks like. The water level in the basement has really gone done. Mom and I had gone to get some thigh high waiting boot, because we thought we were going to need them. So we were happy to see the water level had gone down. We will be working in the house to get it pulled back together.

Side note:

Helendragon has been nice enough to offer up parts of her manga and comic collections, which I will enterally lover her for, and another friend started buying me manga that night, replaceing 5 books and trying to get more from Ebay. To these friend I can not begin to say thank you.

So easterday my parents were able to get into the house and see the damage. the outside "looks" okay. Except for the huge used oil thing in our side yard, yes I will post pics of this later not enough time right now. The basement got almost all the way to the ceiling, about 18" away we think. That would mean that my mothers books and all but three series of my manga went under. They couldn't even get all the way down stairs to see how bad all of it looked, so there could be some that made it, we don't know.

I have to go now though, I'm getting a chance tosee what it looks like out there to day.

So at about noon Friday the Cedar River creasted. This means that in the next few days, if there is no more rain that we will be able to get back in to our home and start assesing the damage.

I'm at my own freinds place today after staying the night in a really bed after sleeping in the a day bed for the last two days, heaven!

Hopefully everything is okay at home and hopefully I'll be talking with my family today to see what is going on.

Got to go though seeing the Incredible Hulk with friends.

So, some of the rivers that are flooding around Iowa are creasting, but not all. Cedar River, the one that chased us out of our home is still rising, if slowly. The craziest part is that in Cedar Rapids the are calling for evacuations from 7th street on the east side of 380 and 12th street on the west. For those of you who don't know how Cedar Rapids is set up, both of these roads are on HILLS. Not only that but my family use to live on 12th street. So this is just freeky. Now to clearify not all of those streets are on hills, just parts of them.

Also, Cedar Rapids has been asking people to cut their water consumption. In other words use water only for drinking, not flushing tolets, taking showers, or cleaning dished. That makes me wonder if any resterants are open right now? Thankfully where I'm staying has a well system so I don't have to worry about that.

I still have not been able to find anything out about Palo and when they are expecting to have the water creat out there, but it is most likely some time this afternoon. That does not mean that we will be able to go back home, just that after that the water levels will start to retreat. It may be sometime next week before we can get back in. I will not know what has happened to a good 90% of my manga until then, and my mother a good 90% of her scrapbooking stuff or her books.

So Wenseday we lost power at about 1:20 or so. After that moved a few more things to "higher" ground in basement. Which hopefully will help. My mother and I then headed out a Palo to go to my mother's friend's, Sue's, place. My father joined us later that evening. Thrusday morning we went out to see if we could move more things up from the basement, but found that we could not get back in, and that our street was flooded to the point of nt being able to drive down it.

Predictions have the creasting at come time tommorrow at maybe 24 and a half feet, at least in Cedar Rapids. Haven't realy heard anything about the creast level in Palo yet. Cedar Rapids's is experencing internet black out in part of the city. I'm at the Panera on the south side of town across from the mall. Alot of people have been coming in with their computers today.

I-380 is/going to be closed to everyone, but emergency vehical meaning I won't be able to go to work until they open it up. Well work or game as both are on the north side of town.

It is 11:16 am in Palo and we are still here. We should have power until about noon here, that is was our neighbers who have been on the city counsil have said.

I need to stop going down stairs to my room, because I keep finding things that I "need" to bring up or take with us if and when we leave. My mom sent me a link to the hyrdograph photo that she is following.

So if anyone wants a better idea of what is going on. Its looking likes its going to be half foot more then the original predicted, a total of 2 and a half feet more then 1993.

We can only hope and pray now. God I'm glad I don't work today.

So,

Palo has issued a volentary evacuation for 4 pm today. I was supose to work from 3-close but was able to call in and tel them that I will come in when I can because my parents want us out.

The predions are that the Cedar river will be creasting at 22 feet, 2 feet over 1993. This is the first time I have been in a flood area and I got to say, not doing it again if I can help it. It is 12:14 now and I still have a lot t go through. I don't know where my doujin box is but I have found some of my very important pictures, thankfully. Also my good computer is now upstairs, hopefully safe from any flood waters.

Chibi, Helen, I am still planning to go to the Yaoi party. I will most likly be staying some where other then home.

So the first week of school is done, and I have not keep up with the journal very well, sorry. I did not get any new costumes done, but will bee working ot get at least two finished before the new year. The only big thing that I did this summer was work, roleplay and sleep.

AI was interesting as I almost had I date, but he had to call it for "work". I say "work" 'cause I heard from other reliable sources that he was really flirting with other girls. I saw it coming so no big deal.

For school I ended up getting here the night before classes started because of work, and had to borrow money from my parents to get the books for that week. The classes have been great and I can't wait for next week.

Yeah I know I haven't written anything for a long time, I should try to keep my friends up on what is going on with me. My car is doing fine I have a new phone and all of my costumes are a little behind schedule, yeah I know not a good thing. I need more motivation, other then the shire coolness of getting them done.

Okay, I've not been posting very often, mostly cause of work. They have been having me work the day shifts and I'm still not use to them and just feel blah after work. I still have not started working on my costume for AI, but I have found out that my mother's sewing machine can embroider (thank god!). This solves one of my worries for the costume, not for the rest of it! Other then that I just have finishing touches to add to my other costumes and corrections.

I'm really looking forward to AI, and for everyone of my friends who want my pics from Acen I'm still been to lazy to set up a photobucket account to store them, yes I suck.

Okay, Acen was the biggest cluster **** ever. First off, the line for prereg sucked but that was to be a given, but add on to that the fact that I never received a confirmation and yet they took out the money from my account. So they took the time to enter me in to the system when I got the to the counter. Yeah done with that! The next day, waiting in "line" for the dealer's was hell, cause we weren't in line. THe Staff lied to us about were we needed to be, the only reason that any of the other people knew what was going on was when I went to find out if the dealer's room was open, and found out that surprise surprise that yes it was, I told one of the staff at that door that there were people that had been told to wait some were else and that they would most likely want to know that they could get in and where.

Thankfully after that things went much smoother. I got two great D. Gray Man Doujins, two great Hunter X Hunter Doujins, and three new manga. I really could not find much other good stuff for ether series. But the panel and photo shoot for D. Gray Man was great I got to meet more rabid fan girls. The Bleach photo shoot was good to as I got some good pics in my Nanao Ise cosplay. I really did a good job style my hair, if I may say so myself, though my hair could have been blacker, need better dye.

Now I am home eating real food again and telling you all about it, oh and for all of you yaoi fangirls out there going to AI(Anime Iowa), the yaoi man from Acen will be there. He told me himself.

Okay, Acen is on its way and I still have some last minute things to do, thankfully I have my hair dyed, though not as dark as I had hoped it will work. If we get the hemming done to night along with my vice captain badge then the rest can be done at the con if I have to. I'll most likely have both Tsunade and Nanao Ise for costumes and just street clothes for friday so that I don't have to get in to costume to go to the dealers room.

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the long drive and I still don't know who all is going to be going in my car, but I will have a microwave and some food, mostly cup ramon to share with those in the room and if we have enough left over others as well.

Got to go and hang out with another friend of mine you will not be going to Acen this year. Bye-bye.

Finals are done and I am back home. I have tomorrow off of work, mostly cause I wasn't sure when all of my finals were and when I could get back home. Next week end is ACEN!!! Can't wait! However I will not be able to go through with my original plan of Unohana and will have to fall back on Nanao Ise, Shunsui's lieutenant. Unohana will not be done because of hair issues, back orders suck. Oh well, at least I will have a new costume, two really by the time this is done.

Okay,

I was originally going to have my good, strong, friend Nick help me re-loft my bed. However, he has gone and gotten sick! At least he doesn't have any more finals! But now I need to figure out how I'm going to get my bed re-lofted! He told me he would try to get moving and try and come help me, but I really don't know how much help he will be if he is this sick. I guess I just have to work on a back up plan.

I *FINALLY* found more D. Gray Man. I can finally catch up with it! I will eventually work on my paper, but I need to read more D. Gray Man. I'm so happy~!

The end (of school) is near! I can't wait because a week later is ACEN!!! I'll even have money for it yeah!

My final paper has been kick me though, so I should go work on it. Bye for now.
